Bassenthwaite Racing Programme

Bassenthwaite Sailing Club runs a full and varied racing programme every Saturday and Sunday from the end of March to the end of November (Only Sunday racing in November). Also, there is a race scheduled for Thursday evenings from May to July after which many members enjoy some home cooking provided by a rota of Club members.
The fleets adopted by the Club are: Flying Fifteens GP14s and Mirrors The laser fleet now sail with an expanding handicap fleet with several asymmetric boats regularly competing to test your skills against. 'Round the Lake' races for all classes are usually held in aid of one of the seamen's charities and take place, generally, each month. A Club Championship Trophy is awarded to the best helms of each of the adopted fleets based on the best 6 series out of 10 championship series of which 7 series are sailed as weekend series of 4 races, the others being long series spread throughout the season.
